Maraschino is a clear, relatively dry liqueur made from sour Marasca cherries; these cherries are found almost exclusively on the coast of Croatia. The liqueur is made with the sour fruit and the crushed cherry pits, which give it a subtle bitter almond flavor.

Paski Cheese

One of the most reputed cheeses from the Croatian Island of Pag, Paski sir is produced from a unique breed of small sheep, Paska Ovca - known for their intensely salty and limited milk output. Since Croatia doesn’t allow the production of animal rennet, Paski sir is made with the help of microbial rennet, thus making it a vegetarian cheese.

If you want to buy native cultural products in Zadar, (from food to souvenirs) we recommend you visit our local markets in the old town. Since Zadar is a tourist destination, it is also easy to find typical food products in any of the supermarkets.

There is also a supermarket and grocery shop in Zadar Cruise Port where you can purchase many of the local products.
